I just finished watching The Ring from season 1 of Angel.

Wesley: You should understand that the man I work for means a great deal to me. And I will not give you a single red cent. What I will do, sir, is beat it out of you if I have to.

Um, I'm pretty sure I just started shipping Angel/Wesley.

Like, seriously.

Oh, that scene!

I can't get through The Ring without rewatching that scene at least three times.

Isn't Wesley awesome...

He is! And this is apparently before he goes through some sort of "badass transformation" as a friend of mine keeps talking about.

Oh, he really does. Wait til you see stubbly, shotgun-carrying Wes...

Iz not a caffeine problem... >_>

IZ A LACK OF STUBBLY SHOTGUN-TOTING WES PROBLEM. IZ SRS BZNS.

In other news: I'm such a fangirl, you don't even know.

I'm... not even sure what the last part of the giant sentence is supposed to mean.

OMG I KNEW YOU WOULD!

*dances with glee* HOW CAN YOU NOT? Plus, Wesley only gets better. ^_^ [Yes, it can get better.]

Oops, HTML fail. >_<

I'm seriously looking forward to it. Though, I really do like Wes as he is now (in season 1) too. (despite the sometimes painfully embarrassing moments)

LOL, Very true. Sometimes I miss season 1 Wesley as well. Especially later on, when things get tougher and more complicated. There were a few points where I fervently wished for the old Wes back, just because I knew that would mean certain things hadn't happened the way they did.

It is really hard not to spoil you. >_< Bah. Watch faster!

*cuddles season 1 Wesley* Yes, I make a distinction between the different seasons of Wes... I can't NOT do it. I have three versions of Wes in my head at any given time. *is weird*

How are you enjoying the rest of the show?

You've got me a little scared now. *cuddles season 1 Wesley as well* I like him too much for bad things to happen to him!

I'm liking the show, and even, liking Angel a bit. Sometimes he seriously annoys me. And I dread anything that has to do with Buffy, but he's not as bad as he was on BtVS.

I love the interaction between Cordelia and Wes (even though I still miss Doyle) and I feel really bad for Kate. I liked her.

*continues to cuddle various versions Wes just because she can*

>_> Sorry. Didn't mean to make you worry. I mean there is a LOT that happens over the course of the show, to all of the characters, so it's a bit misleading for me to rant about all the stuff that happens to Wes. A lot of that stuff effects everyone on the show in various ways, not just him, but it's really his story that touches me the most. Sure, it's probably because he's my favorite, but I really think he became my favorite character on his own merits and because his storyline is so moving. Like... season 1 Wes is so endearingly clumsy and adorkable that you can't help but love him! [You know what I mean!] I just... never stopped loving him, even when half of he fans seemed to. I've always been able to see adorkable Wesley inside of badass Wes, or even asshole Wes or weird 5th season Wes. His character is so complex and intriguing that I can't hate him. [A lot of this is Alexis Denisoff's amazing acting, on top of the great writing.] IDK, I just find him to be a really sympathetic character, and the mysteries about his character will always bug me. Like. what was his relationship with his father really like? Are the hints in the show just the tip of the iceberg or the worst of the worst? A lot of that... and I just realized I've been ranting, sorry. >_>

Yeah, Angel is a lot better and multi-dimensional in his own show. He was sort of the cardboard cut-out love interest on Buffy and I'm glad he got his own show so that the really interesting aspects of his character could shine thru. He can be annoying at times, but he's still very complex and interesting, so I can handle it. Of all of the characters Angel changes the least [in my opinion], but that makes sense when you think about it. He's immortal. He's not going to go thru amazing personal development at the speed of humans. Once he starts living in the normal world more -instead of hiding in the shadows- he grows a lot more, due to exposure to people who ARE growing and changing... uh and I better stop before I REALLY get off on a tangent.

Season 1 Wes and Cordelia are love! ♥

Whoah. O.o That was quite a comment.

Wesley inside of badass Wes, or even asshole Wes or weird 5th season Wes

Huh. The way you speak about him it sounds like he some kind of personality disorder. I guess he really does go through a lot, huh? Well thats okay. It makes for good interesting characters.

LOL, Not quite. At least I don't think so. But his character growth is so profound that if you stood season 1 Wesley next to season 4 Wes you'd be hard pressed to connect the two as the same person. Maybe twins separated at birth...

IDK. I have a very distinct way of thinking of Wes at each point in the show. When I'm reading stuff I don't ask "would Wes do that?" I ask "would season [blank] Wes do that?" because his behavior changes a great deal. A lot of that is probably me and the psychotic way I tend to create fully functioning characters within my head. >_> That's how I do most of my writing. I just end up with that character living in my brain and snarking at what I'm doing IRL. Yes. I know I'm crazy.

ROFL. I can be a bit of a "tl;dr" commentator on the subject of Wes. XD

I also apologize for taking over your journal with my babbling.

From: [identity profile] aisalynn.livejournal.com

Haha. Its okay. I like your babbling. :)

Also, I totally get what you mean by having a character in your brain all the time. I do the same thing. It gets especially bad because I really like snarky characters, so my reactions to things and people tend to get meaner when I'm focusing on a character I'm writing.

(It gets really bad whenever I write some House especially.)

EXACTLY! I love me some snarky, angsty, wild characters [Griffin for example] but having them running around my head all the time can be... a trial. It's nice to have a few semi-normal ones in there sometimes. [Even tho I rarely do... I love damaged characters waaaaayyy more than is good for me.]

I'm like that with original characters too. There have been a few of those that really got to me. The ones that I really adore [original or not] tend to stick with me even when I'm not writing them. @_@ It gets crowded up there sometimes! Especially when I start keeping 2-3 versions of a character around. [Wes and a few originals most notably.]

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I feel like less of a lunatic now. ♥

It was a good episode! I really liked the Cordelia/Wesley interaction, and for some reason I've always liked the whole Gladiator fight idea. (Despite actually not liking the movie, "Gladiator.")
