Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general. Favorite character, favorite moment, unpopular opinion, something about a fic of mine... whatever. Subparts allowed. Wackiness encouraged.

I guess my question is, do you find it hard to read other people's fics while working on your own story? Or does reading inspire ideas you can use in your own work? (it's something I struggle with alot)

Um, my biggest problem with reading other fics while I write is probably the fact that I get so distracted by those fics I forget to write. I don't know, I'm sure some characterizations I've written have been influenced by what I've read--especially RPS, since I don't actually know Jared and Jensen--but I've never thought that reading other people's fanfiction got in the way of my own originality.
