2. Her girliness-- She is proof that to be some kind of warrior woman, (or just a strong--emotionally, mentally, physically--woman in general) you don't have to be masculine, or tom boyish or anything like that. She curls her hair and wears lipstick and hoop earrings and worries about boys and shopping--and still kicks ass and saves the world, even if she does annoy Giles by complaining about the state of her favorite pair of boots afterwards. :)
3. Her intelligence-- Buffy is smart. Sure the air headed, valley girl vocabulary would like to tell you otherwise, but she is smart. She's a good strategist, and quick on her feet, and what's more, when she has the chance, she's book smart. I loved the scenes in season 4 that showed her thriving in the college environment--participating in history discussions, getting a better grade than Willow, enjoying the poetry class, 'cause they really showed how intelligent she is.
4. Her conviction-- She sticks to what she believes, and her actions match those beliefs. She wasn't going to let Dawn be sacrificed to save the world, and she didn't. She believed that Spike could be a good man, and that he would be integral in the fight, and she wouldn't let anyone tell her otherwise, not even Spike.
5. Her faith in people-- She's supposed to be different than the other slayers because she has friends and family who love her, right? Well, I think she is different because she allows them to. She has so much faith and trust in people, even after all she's been through. She forgave Giles after the Cruciamentum, and trusted Willow after she turned evil, despite her worries, and believed in Spike after he got his soul, even started to trust him enough after the disaster that was Seeing Red and the whole of season 6 (a lot of which was, admittedly, her fault) to start mending their relationship. She opens herself up to believe and depend on other people, and that's what makes her different from the slayers before her.
(Wow this got long. Sorry about that!)
