So... I think that was a little too happy and hopeful for me. I was expecting more chaos and angst, and less Patch Adams. And the music box thing just made me roll my eyes. And cringe a little. As did the whole happy hugging/face planting in the cake scene. House willingly participating in something so cheesy just seemed...unnatural.
On the plus side:
German Lady (Lydia) seemed like a Proxy Wilson. She needed to be needed, which was why she kept visiting her institutionalized best friend and married her needy brother, also why she was drawn to House. I find it interesting that House and Wilson keep finding their perfect love matches in female forms of each other. I think they should just get it over with and get on with gay love already.
I'm not too happy with the promo for the next episode. I was really hoping since last season the big Huddy moment turned out to be a GIANT HALLUCINATION that they would abandon that story line. Apparently not.
*sigh*
I need to read some angst to make up for this Lifetime film masquerading as a House episode.

Okay - my flist has far too many people going insane over the promo, and no-one's saying why. What happened in it?

And substance abuse has a new distinction, if they're taking it for pain and not for the euphoria that the medication gives them then there's no reason to stop the medication, it's not considered a psychological addiction. The idea that they'd put House through half of that crap is ludicrous. I give them their artistic license but let's face it, if he was suffering hallucinations they'd switch meds, not bleed him from a pain med just to watch him suffer and put him on something else. I am going by the Canadian version of all of this, but least restraint policy I'm almost positive is in the US as well as Canada. o.O
Also the whole phone call between House and Wilson was painful, I wanted to hug Wilson.
