Eight days post-op and it's gotten to the point that I am dreaming about real food. Really. Asleep dreaming, not day dreaming, 'cause I was already doing that by day 2.

*sigh*

When I can eat again I'm going out for Mexican. And I am going to stuff myself.

And then ask for take out.

I WAS THE SAME WHEN I GOT MY WISDOM TEETH OUT. That wasn't as bad as I imagined your horrible foodless existence is, since it was a little shorter, BUT STILL. ROAR. I sympathize.

Yeah it has sucked. But, thankfully, I just managed to eat some pizza. I know, that's a weird and dangerous seeming food to be the first real solid thing I eat after a tonsillectomy, but my family had ordered two pizzas for themselves and I was just so hungry that I couldn't not try to eat it.

Thank god for pain medication or I wouldn't have gotten it down.

Oh, that sucks! I didn't realize it would take you this long to recover! Hon, I'm so sorry! I know a bit of what you feel from when I got my wisdom teeth out, but it didn't last nearly as long as this.

How long before you think you'll be able to eat again?

I JUST ATE!!

An hour after taking my pain meds and I was just able to get down two (two!) small slices of pizza. It took me forever to do--I had to chew chew chew chew--and the spices are still burning my throat right now, but it was GODDAMN WORTH IT.

This is the first solid food I've eaten that hasn't been over cooked pasta or mushy potatoes. It made me so happy I could cry.
