Lately I've been writing in the Supernatural fandom. I don't know if you've ever watched the show, but I love it. It's dark, and angsty and the characters have so many issues to play with, and yet it's absolutely hilarious at other times. And I think the writing of the show is really good. The creator, Eric Kripke, clearly had the whole five years the show has been airing planned out from the first episode, and it really shows. The quality of the writing is fantastic.

And that goes for the fandom as well. I've never seen so much great writing in a fandom before. Usually I have to wade through the crap to find the good stuff. And it's that quality of writing that, I'm kind of embarrassed to say, brought me into reading/writing RPS (real people slash). I always thought RPS was a little creepy, but these stories kept being recommended, so finally I read one, and it was so good I read another, then another and I was just obsessed. So now I write J2 RPS as well as Supernatural stories.

Also, this fandom is freakishly well organized. I mean, really. Master Posts, and recs lists, and search communities, and extremely detailed tags lists, and wow. It's so easy to find good stories. (The people are, however, not quite as welcoming as the Buffy fandom, I'm sad to say. Not that they are mean or anything like that, but I never could make such fast friends in the Supernatural world as I did the Buffy fandom. It all seems a little more isolated.)
