There is a very real difference between being messy and being dirty. I am messy, and I have no problem admitting it. But dirtiness? That's what you're describing, and it's awful.
Also, I will never understand how so many people get all the way to college without ever having learned to wash their clothes or use a dishwasher or do any of the other things that should be necessary for human existence in the modern Western world. It's crazy.
