Doctor Who End of Time Part One

Finally got around to watching it, which, seeing the end, I now believe was really stupid. I should have waited until Part 2 aired, that way I could watch them back to back. *sigh*

Some parts of the episode I found really annoying. Like the Master's weird jumping/flying thing, and the lighting he randomly shot out of his hands, and just how parts of the ep were seriously over dramatic. I mean, I get it RTD, this is your last two episodes, as well as David's last two episodes, and you want to go out with a bang, but there is a line between drama and over the top CORNINESS. *sigh*

That being said, I adored Wilf and his little gang of old people, the bits of Donna seriously made me miss her, and I just wanted to give The Doctor a huge hug during the cafe scene where he started to cry. Yes, the Doctor definitely needs somebody to keep him in check, and no one understood that better than Donna, which I admit even though my shipper heart wants it to be Rose that is at his side. (They should both be there! It was obvious that Donna so rooted for Rose and The Doctor in The Stolen Earth, and I am a firm believer that Donna and Rose would be great friends. I think all three of them would have a blast in the The Tardis.) I loved the Master (when he wasn't jumping around by the power of his lightning hands), he was all twisted and crazy and tormented and just like I like him. I thought the scene between him and The Doctor where he was talking about the drum beat was fantastic. Especially when the Master realized what he was hearing was actually there.

Also, I have to say, I thought seeing the Master in drag at the end was hilarious. Also, all the camera angles and stuff they had to do to hide "Obama's" face cracked me up.

Did anybody else get weird incestuous vibes from the father and daughter who kidnapped the Master? 'Cause they sure were creeping me out.

Okay, my reaction to the end:

Oh my fucking god! Gallifrey! I seriously just stared at my computer screen with my mouth hanging open for like, a whole minute. I mean, when we got that first glimpse of Timothy Dalton half way through I started to get the suspicion, but still. I am so curious as to how that came about, which is why I am a little pissed at myself for watching it when I don't have the next episode to watch. It's going to drive me nuts. (Guess I'm going to have to read some Doctor Who fanfiction to hold me over, which I haven't done for a while.)

I am so excited for the next episode, (Rose!!!) and I really hope it comes through explanation and plot wise, and lays off the over dramatics.

And this has nothing to do with Doctor Who, but I just thought I'd share my word count for the year:

77,373

Not a whole lot considering several people on my flist wrote 50,000 in a month, but still good for me. My goal this year was at least 75,000 (my goal last year was 50,000. I'm slowly working up.) and I surpassed that, so I'm happy. :) Next year's goal? 100,000. And I'm planning on signing up for the Supernatural Big Bang (that lawyer!Sam bunny won't go away!) so that will be at least 20,000 right there.

Oh, and my bandwidth on photobucket was apparently used up, so all my graphics (with the exception of my banner) are turning into those ugly photobucket images. This is sad. *pouts*

Wilf was so adorable with his old people gang :) It's so funny how they have an underground society, so to speak. My heart nearly busted when the Doctor started to cry. I miss Donna so much and he needs her! They were BFFs! Seriously! Donna was never interested in him in a love interest way and knew that Rose held his heart, so they were the best of friends. I truly miss that.

The Master in drag was hilarious and Obama being hidden from the camera was interesting. :D

I loved the Doctor and Donna's relationship. They really were best friends. (Which meant it didn't rankle against my--admittedly, a little rabid--shippiness when it came to the Doctor and Rose.) I think I need to rewatch of season 4.
