I'm so happy you think it fits with show. Personally, my favorite fics are always ones that can fit well with how things really were. I mean, if you change everything around, especially the characters themselves, aren't you taking away what made you love the characters/pairing in the first place?

Not that I don't like a nice AU, now and then, 'cause I'll admit it, I do. But I like it when the characters themselves are still as close to the real ones as possible.
